Healing isn’t linear

It’s a Spiral

Healing rarely moves in a straight line. We return to familiar patterns, emotions or memories—not because we’re failing, but because as safety grows, our nervous system allows us to revisit experiences from new vantage points. Each pass through the spiral offers new understanding and choice, because we’re able to meet these moments with more awareness, support and capacity than before. At Rooted Therapy, we meet you in these cycles, and will hold the torch of hope for you when it feels heavy to carry alone.

At Rooted Therapy, we work with people who have learned to put others first, hold themselves to high standards, and keep going even when it costs them. You may be intuitive and self-aware, yet find yourself stuck in familiar patterns of self-doubt, burnout, perfectionism, or feeling like you’re somehow falling short.

Two Licensed Therapists connecting to joy

Our virtual practice, based in New York, supports sensitive people who are ready to break longstanding patterns and create relationships that feel less effortful and more secure. Drawing from psychodynamic psychotherapy, EMDR, and integrative somatic parts work, we help you release what’s old, reclaim your voice, and build a more trusting relationship with yourself and others.

HOLISTIC THERAPY

Holistic individual therapy sessions integrate psychodynamic talk therapy, parts-based work, mindfulness, and somatic grounding to help you better understand the patterns shaping your life. Sessions are tailored to where you are in the moment and may include mindfulness-based or experiential approaches to support nervous system regulation as you process and heal. The goal is to provide a steady, supportive space where you feel understood and can move forward with greater clarity and self-trust.

EMDR THERAPY

Have you been in talk therapy and feel like you have a good understanding of your patterns but still feel stuck in them? EMDR works on a deeper, neurological level, helping clients experience faster, more lasting relief from triggers, stress, and old wounds that still impact their daily life.

EMDR is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and heal from trauma, anxiety, and painful life experiences. Instead of talking about the same memories over and over, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to help the brain release what feels stuck, reduce emotional intensity, and create new, healthier beliefs.

EMDR INTENSIVES

EMDR intensives are longer, immersive therapy sessions designed to help you move through deeper healing work in a more focused and uninterrupted way. Instead of spreading EMDR processing across many weekly sessions, intensives offer the spaciousness needed to stay in the flow, process more fully, and experience meaningful shifts in a shorter period of time.
